Inner Child
for Creatives
A live online workshop for creatives

The child who made things
is still there.
Before anyone told you whether you were good enough — you made things. You made them because colour and mark-making were interesting. Because your hands wanted to move. Because it felt like play.
Then something shifted. A teacher, a classroom, a comment that became yours. Or just a slow, quiet fade — the making becoming smaller, tighter, more careful, more judged. The child who created freely didn't disappear. They just got quieter, smaller and made themselves less visible.
This workshop is about finding them again. Not through theory or technique — but through experience. Through your own hands, your own memories, and a few simple tools that go deeper than most art workshops ever go.
It's different from other creative workshops because it combines the playfulness of making with the deeper inner work that most art courses never touch. That's because I'm not just an artist — I'm a qualified therapist who has spent years working with creatives on exactly this.
"The difference between creating freely and creating with the critic in charge isn't talent. It's simply remembering who you were before anyone taught you to doubt yourself."

Three hours. Five elements. One shift that begins the moment you show up.
We go right to the source — a guided sensory memory walk back to a time when you made things freely. Before the rules. Before the voice. Before anyone told you whether you were good enough.
You write — without editing, without stopping — about the moment creating stopped feeling free. Then you switch hands, and let the child write back. What comes out of the non-dominant hand always surprises people.
Two rounds of mark-making. The contrast between the two is where the workshop shifts. The child doesn't second-guess. The adult can't help it.
Your inner child writes a letter to the artist you are now. What were they never afraid of? What permission do they want to give you? This is the emotional centrepiece of the day.
You leave with a personal, handwritten permission slip — signed by the child version of you. Something to keep by your easel or desk. Every time the critic shows up, you have something to reach for.
Everything happens inside your personal Inner Child for Creatives workbook — designed specifically for this workshop. Yours to keep, return to, and use long after the session ends.
- You used to make things freely as a child and somewhere along the way that stopped
- You create but there's always a voice telling you it's not good enough
- You feel like you've lost touch with the playful, experimental side of making
- You compare your work to others and always come up short
- You feel like everyone else creates with freedom and ease — and you don't know where yours went
- You're ready to do something that goes deeper than technique
- You work better and more freely when creating alongside other people

I spent twenty years as a professional photographer — close to the creative life I wanted, but never quite in it. The inner critic had done its job so quietly, I hadn't even noticed.
I'm an abstract mixed-media artist and a qualified therapist specialising in the mindset and inner world of creatives. What I do at Mark Wilson Studio sits at the crossroads of both — and there's nowhere else quite like it.
I know from the inside what it costs to carry a belief that was never yours.
Every participant receives the Inner Child for Creatives workbook — a beautifully designed PDF that guides you through the session and gives you something to keep long after the workshop ends.

Do I need to be a practising artist to join?
Not at all. This workshop is for anyone who makes things or wants to — painters, sketchers, makers, crafters, or people who haven't picked up a brush in years. If you've ever felt the pull to create, this is for you.
What art supplies do I need?
Something to make marks with — crayons, felt tips, watercolour, acrylic, or coloured pencils. Whatever you have or love. If you're unsure, a box of children's crayons is genuinely perfect for this workshop. You'll also need paper — a sketchbook, loose sheets, or larger paper taped to a surface all work well.
How many people will be in the session?
This is designed as a small-group workshop so there is space to feel supported, ask questions, and work at your own pace. Places will be limited to keep the experience personal and calm.
What platform do you use?
The workshop will take place live online via Zoom. You will receive the joining details before the session, along with anything you need to prepare. No special software needed beyond a free Zoom account.
What's the difference between Standard and VIP?
Both include the live 3-hour workshop and your personal workbook PDF. VIP adds 30-day recording access, Your Little Inner Artist — a 30-day creative practice guide, the extended letter page, the When the Critic Shows Up studio card, and priority access to the Creative Mind Programme when it launches.
Is there any obligation when I register my interest?
None at all. Registering your interest simply means you'll hear about the date, early bird pricing, and booking details before anyone else. No payment is taken at this stage.
When will the first workshop take place?
Dates are being finalised. Register your interest and you'll be the first to know — along with early bird pricing when bookings open.
