Silence the
Inner Critic.
A live online workshop for creatives

The inner critic has been running the show for long enough.
If you've ever sat down to create and heard a voice saying "this isn't good enough" or "who do you think you are" — you already know what this workshop is about.
That voice isn't yours. It arrived early, quietly, and it's been posing as your own honest assessment ever since. Most of us have never thought to question it.
Ignite is a live, small-group workshop that takes you right to the source of that voice — where it came from, why it feels so real, and how to begin, very gently, to turn its volume down.
It's different from other creative workshops because it combines the practical tools of abstract art-making with the deeper inner work that most art courses never touch. That's because I'm not just an artist — I'm a qualified therapist who has spent years working with creatives on exactly this.
"The difference between those who create anyway and those who don't isn't talent, or training, or special permission. It is simply the decision to keep going despite the voice."

Three hours. Six elements. One shift that begins the moment you show up.
We go right to the source — where the inner critic came from, why it feels like your own honest assessment, and the single question that begins to change everything.
The most powerful distinction I know. Most of what the inner critic tells you isn't a fact at all — it's a story that was handed to you. This is where we return it.
A guided visualisation I created specifically for creatives — designed to bypass the analytical mind and reconnect you with the instinctive, expressive part of yourself.
After the Ignite Process, we make. Paper, paint, collage — whatever you have. No outcome required. Just the experience of creating without the inner critic in charge.
Not affirmations. Something more powerful. Questions that send your brain searching for evidence of your own creative worth — and finding it.
You leave with a simple, sustainable daily structure — the 7-day Ignite Challenge — to keep the momentum alive after the workshop ends.
No other creative workshop offers this. The Ignite Process is a guided visualisation created specifically for creatives by a qualified hypnotherapist. It works by guiding your mind into a relaxed, receptive state — bypassing the voice that usually stands guard over your creative work. In this state, ideas arrive differently. Colour, marks, feelings and instinct lead the way. The inner critic goes quiet.
- You've always wanted to make things but never quite given yourself permission
- You used to create and stopped — and aren't sure why
- You create but fight constant self-doubt and the "not good enough" voice
- You compare your work to others and always come up short
- You feel like everyone else has something you don't — and you're not sure what it is
- You've been telling yourself you're too old, too late, or too far behind to start
- You work better and more freely when creating alongside other people
- You're ready for something different — not another technique, but a real shift

I spent twenty years as a professional photographer — close to the creative life I wanted, but never quite in it. The inner critic had done its job so quietly, I hadn't even noticed.
I'm an abstract mixed-media artist and a qualified therapist specialising in the mindset and inner world of creatives. What I do at Mark Wilson Studio sits at the intersection of both — and there's nowhere else quite like it.
I know from the inside what it costs to carry a belief that was never yours.

Do I need to be a practising artist to join?
Not at all. You don't need any experience making things — just a curiosity about your own creativity and a willingness to explore. The workshop is designed for anyone who has ever wanted to create more freely, regardless of where they currently are.
What art supplies do I need?
You only need simple materials you already have or can easily get hold of — paper, something to make marks with, and perhaps a few colours. This is not about expensive supplies or producing a finished artwork. It is about beginning, loosening up, and creating without pressure.
How many people will be in the session?
Ignite is designed as a small-group workshop so there is space to feel supported, ask questions, and work at your own pace. Places will be limited to keep the experience personal and calm.
What platform do you use?
The workshop will take place live online via Zoom. You will receive the joining details before the session, along with anything you need to prepare.
What's the difference between Standard and VIP?
Standard gives you access to the live workshop, your workbook, the recap email, and the 7-day Ignite Challenge guide. VIP includes everything in Standard, plus the workshop recording, The Ignite Process audio file, an extended VIP workbook, and priority access to future deeper work.
Is there any obligation when I register my interest?
No. Registering your interest simply means you will hear first when dates are released. There is no obligation to book, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
When will the first workshop take place?
The first date is still to be confirmed. Join the interest list and you will be the first to know when places open, including access to early bird pricing.
